DOWNFORCE JR RACE JUNIOR SKI HELMET

DESCRIPTION

An aerodynamic junior racing helmet designed for competitive racing. The modular system of the DOWNFORCE makes it suitable for all alpine race disciplines.

This is the new benchmark for racing helmets. A strong, durable shell in a streamlined, aerodynamic design that's also extremely light and incredibly safe. This helmet is suitable for all alpine competitions, as it has a speed mode with acoustic adapters as well as a gate mode, where the adapters can be exchanged to mount a chin guard for technical disciplines.

  • Sizes: XS (52-53 cm), S (54-55 cm), M (56-57 cm)

  • Colors: speedblue

HARDSHELL TECHNOLOGY
This helmet technology is outstanding in longevity and impact protection. For this reason we use it in our race and rental helmets.

DUAL DENSITY CORE
This patented core technology is made from EPS with dual densities. This increases the helmets performance so it passes the FIS RH 2013 standard.

CHINGUARD COMPATIBLE
CHINGUARD can be easily mounted to our race helmets for slalom disciplines.

THERMAL VENTILATION
Thermal Ventilation is our automatic ventilation system which leads warm air away from the head to the outside without allowing any cold air to the inside.

CHANGEABLE ADAPTER PLATES
Use the flat adapter plates with optimized acoustics for speed disciplines, the chin guard adapter for technical disciplines.

MICROFLEECE
The soft Microfleece material has several functions: it feels good, draws moisture from the skin and transports it away from the head.

BEANIE LINER
The soft Microfleece material of the Beanie Liner adapts perfectly to the head and thus avoids any bruises and the unpleasant entering of cold air. Molded-in mesh zones let heat and moisture escape to the outside and, together with the ventilation system, ensure a pleasant head climate.

REMOVABLE NECKGATOR
These neckgators can be removed to suit the variable weather conditions and for cleaning.

METAL CHINSTRAP BUCKLE
The Metal Chinstrap Buckle is both durable and tactile. Made from metal it also adds to the look of a HEAD helmet.

HELMET POUCH INCLUDED
Helmet Pouch included protecting your helmet from scratches and other impacts.

EN 1077:2007 CLASS A
The certification procedure for Class A is used for racing helmets with hard ear protectors, requiring high standards of puncture resistance.

ASTM F 2040
The North American equivalent to the European CE-Test uses comparable methods.

FIS RH 2013
These helmets comply with FIS GS/SG/DH helmet regulations

Brand

Head:
The company was founded in Baltimore, Maryland in 1950 by aeronautical engineer Howard Head, after he took a ski trip and was astonished to see his skis were made of wood in an era when metals and plastics was replacing wood in many product designs. Head worked at the Glenn L. Martin Company where they used a form of aluminum and plastic laminate to build the fuselages of aircraft, and he felt the same material would make an ideal ski. After two years of constantly breaking skis, by the winter of 1950 they had a design that not only stayed together, but made turning dramatically easier.

The Head Standard would rapidly grow in sales through the 1950s, until it and other Head designs were capturing over 50% of the US market during the 1960s, making them the leading ski manufacturer in the U.S. and U.K.. Head resisted the change to fibreglass construction and was known for interfering in day-to-day operations. In 1967, Howard Head hired Harold Seigle as company president, and became the Chairman of the Board and CEO. Bored of the results, in 1969 Head sold the company to AMF in 1969, and took up tennis. He later bought a controlling interest in Prince Sports. The company is currently headquartered in Kennelbach, Austria and Amsterdam, Netherlands.
