"BUILT TOGETHER!" Next Chapter! The new urban freeski highlight with exclusive graphics

Overview

"BUILT TOGETHER!" The design concept of the Völkl Freeski Family goes into the fourth round! The complete Revolt Range was designed by Swiss illustrator Benjamin Güdel and the Revolt 96 replaces the Revolt 95. The development of the ski was a process over several years with different athletes and came to completion with the Norwegian Øystein Braten and the Völkl Freestyle Team around Tom Ritsch from Austria. The result is impressive in every respect. The tip & tail rocker ski with a new, modern sidecut is equipped with reinforced edges and modified flex zones meant to be ridden in the urban playground or in the park. Whether it's the stair railing behind the house, the rail in the park, or the kicker next to the slope, the Revolt 96 will give you enough pop and stability during take-off to raise your level up a notch. Of course, the Revolt 96 also features the proven 3D Radius Sidecut and a full-length sidewall for top performance on hard, shaped surfaces. The ski is available in four lengths from 157 to a whopping 181 cm, so that even taller or heavier riders will find the right model for them.

The side wall is laminated to extremely stable layers of wood on the sides of the sandwich core. In combination with a more flexible, lighter wood built into the center of the sandwich core construction provides numerous advantages: The hardwood part immediately adjacent to the sidewall effects a higher power transmission, improves the edge grip and supports the edge against external forces. The low weight of the softwood part in the middle of the ski brings more agility and maneuverability and reduces overall ski weight. The combination of both wood types running through the entire ski length contributes to an optimal distribution of the ski stiffness increasing the steering precision. It is the first and only sidewall/core technology intended for aggressive on-piste and racing use and capable of delivering the victory and defeat, even if it is measured in hundredths of seconds.

Tip & Tail Rocker:

Volkl:
Volkl is a sports equipment manufacturer based in Germany. It is a subsidiary of the Jarden Corporation. Initially it manufactured skis, but has extended its line to snowboards, outerwear, and tennis gear. The American branch is located in West Lebanon, New Hampshire along with its wholly owned binding manufacturer, Marker.

Since 1923, Volkl has manufactured skis in Straubing, Germany, a Bavarian town about an hour's drive north of Munich. In the 1960s, Seaos started distributing Volkl in North America under the Othmar Schneider and Sears brands. Though they recently built a state-of-the-art production facility in Straubing, the original factory is still in use as the Volkl World Logistics Center.

In early 2007 Volkl presents another quantum leap in the evolution of the ski: Power Switch Technology, a mechanism that allows you to completely transform your skis' characteristics, with a simple manual switch enabling the adjustment to current snow conditions or to your fitness level. One of the greatest innovations in skiing since the invention of carving and a fundamental buling block for the future of skiing.
